Position Summary 

Responsible for the front line responsibilities of the North Renfrew Family Health Team including but not limited to patient administration/booking/greeting, scanning of medical documents and third party billing.

 

Position Relationships 

This position reports directly to the Executive Director, North Renfrew Family Health Team and works in collaboration with, Office Coordinator, reception personnel, clinical staff, physicians, vendors, patients, auditors and third party payers to fulfill the functions of the position.

 

Duties:

 

  • Primary point of contact for patients and visitors to the Family Health Team.
  • Responsible for scheduling patient appointments for physicians, nurse practitioner and nursing based on established protocols.
  • Responsible for incoming phone calls and monitoring of general waiting area in compliance with infection control practices.
  • Maintain clinical and administrative filing system within Electronic Medical Record.
  • Issue third party billing invoices, issues receipts for invoices and documents transactions within the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Responsible for scanning all incoming medical documents into patient charts in Electronic Medical Record.
  • Supports and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of the Organization.
  • Other duties may be assigned and may not be limited to the scope of an individual department.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent.
  • Training and/or experience with Electronic Medical Record and electronic scheduling.
  • Medical Terminology course preferred.
  • Relevant healthcare and/or registration experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy and current computer experience and familiarity with basic computer applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel) required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills in dealings with the public required.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team approach, and adapt to changing situations required.
  • Ability to maintain staff, patient and resident confidentiality.
  • Exceptional Attendance required.
  • Must agree to adhere to DRDH standards of behaviour.
