Auxiliary Profile
As a Hospital Auxiliary, we are advocates of community partnerships in the support of health care through education, fundraising opportunities, and the promotion of volunteer services.
Auxiliary members are proud to have volunteered nearly 411,037 hours and donated over $1.75 M to DRDH since the Auxiliary's inception in 1974 (as of the 2022 year-end).
The Sprouting Speech Preschool Speech and Language Program is accessible at the Deep River and District Hospital thanks to annual financial support from the Hospital Auxiliary.
The Hospital Auxiliary runs the Gift Shop and the Whistle Stop as well as provides volunteers for Hospital Patient/Resident Support.
Volunteering with the Auxiliary
Volunteering can enrich your life in many ways. When you volunteer, you have the opportunity to:
- Experience and learn about various health-care settings
- Help others and build new friendships
- Share in our community spirit, and
- Most of all – have fun!
Volunteer opportunities include support for evening nourishments, and involvement in recreational and escort activities.
