Position Summary
The
Registered Nurse practices as a member of the multidisciplinary team under the
standards of Accreditation Canada, the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Long
Term Care and policies of Deep River and District Health.
Position Relationships
Reports
directly to the Manager of Clinical Services - Acute Care. Works as a member of
the health care team to co-ordinate care in response to the identified needs of
clients. Duties: - Practice as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide quality
nursing care and education for patients and their families.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures.
- Supports and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of
Organization.
- Other duties may be assigned and may not be limited to the scope of an
individual department.
Qualifications: - Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
as a Registered Nurse, and be a member in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent education and
relevant experience.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
(ACLS) required within six (6) months of hire.
12 Lead ECG Interpretation Course or equivalent required within six (6) months of hire. CTAS Course required within six (6) months of hire. TNCC and PALS certification preferred. - Emergency Nursing Certificate, or Critical Care Certificate
or CNA Certification in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing preferred.
- Gentle Persuasive Approach certificate preferred.
- Recent clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- Experience with Pediatric assessment and care preferred.
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application
of the College of Nurses standards of practice required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform well in
critical and high stress situations required.
- Demonstrated and proven ability to work
in a collaborative care model with all members of the health care team
required.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient
safety required.
- Excellent attendance record required.
- Computer literacy and experience with
electronic documentation required.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and
problem solving abilities required.
- Exemplary interpersonal, communication
and organizational skills required.
- Must agree to adhere to DRDH standards
of behaviour.
